Newfoundland Vision Services Inc.
Newfoundland Vision Services Inc. (NVS) is a not for profit corporation which is wholly owned by the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Optometrists. NVS provides safety eye wear to industrial employers in Newfoundland and Labrador who enter into an arrangement with the corporation.
How it Works
Employees receive an order form from their employers which they take to an NLAO member of their choice. Eye examinations are performed by Optometrists who in turn prescribe safety eye wear and send the order off to Aearo Canada of Mississauga, Ontario. Aearo forwards the eye wear to the Optometrist who in turn dispenses it to the patient/employee.
The arrangement between NVS and the employers includes an agreed rate for fitting fees and a price list for eye wear.

Aearo Canada invoices NVS for the eye wear and NVS in turn invoices the participating employers. Upon receipt of payment from the employer NVS pays Optometrists the amount owing them for fitting fees and pays Aearo Canada for the cost of the eye wear.
